Field Trip to Oxbow to Release our Trout

Posted on

What a fun day! Students visited Oxbow to learn more about Nevada habitats and the best conditions for healthy trout. Students toured the park and saw evidence of beavers, mule deer, galls, rabbits and red headed blackbirds. Students also spent time at the Oxbow Visitors Center to see examples of Nevada native animals.

The day, however, was really about releasing trout. All students were able to do so, but only after naming their fish. We are all hoping that Pancake, Ox, TB12, Bow, Blinky and all the trout make it to adulthood.
