The Sierra Watercolor Society visited Room D4 and shared several techniques with the students about using watercolors. This included the value of careful observation when selecting the colors of a subject (i.e., a sky is not just blue), the importance of looking at form, and strategies for mixing and applying watercolors. The experience was extremely positive and every student was able to create a piece that they will share with families when we track off for winter break.
There was no cost to have the Sierra Watercolor Society visit. The five adults who worked in our classroom donated all of the materials and their time!
